This was a big celebration year. Before we get to that though, here are 10 things we adore about our Arrow.

1. She is very service-oriented. She loves to be helpful and often thinks of ideas to help someone in need. A notable time was when she used her ‘charity’ funds to purchase toys and treats for the dogs at the animal shelter.

2. Love for slang “cool”. She’s been saying “sup, bro” and dabbing since she was six.

3. Her love for animals. They know it, too. Arrow and Junior totally fight for bed space every night 🤣

4. Natural leadership. She was born with a voice that carries. Sometimes this talent drives her crazy. Arrow routinely gets in trouble for talking in class because teachers can hear her gabbing from across the room lol. But it’s such a neat skill to command attention and take charge – two of Arrow’s favorite things! She’s eager to try out for cheerleading, namely so she can scream at people without getting in trouble hahaha.

5. Love for learning, esp cooking. She has mastered pancakes & mac ‘n’ cheese.

6. Arrow regularly hosts “school” for “the little boys” as she calls her younger brothers. And how they adore her for it!

7. She is wonderfully Bookish. Her top favorites are Percy Jackson, Fablehaven, and Little House on the Prairie. Lately, she’s been on a Chronicles of Narnia kick.

8. Her piano composition is just beautiful. Arrow loves to make up melodies on the piano. She even submitted one for the PTA reflections contest this year!

9. Trustworthiness. I can count on this kid to follow through with her promises. And she definitely holds us to our word as well!

10. Arrow hates when Taylor and I leave the house without a full goodbye routine (kiss, hug, and a quick midwestern chat about anything). On occasion, I’ll be a little impatient about it if I’m running late or just doing a 10-minute errand. But childhood is temporary and expressing love is one of her very best talents! Likewise, she refuses to leave for school with a hand squeeze and kissy before dashing off to join her buddies.

We are so lucky to have Arrow as a part of our family. Happy birthday, darling!
