Jan little things

OK this post will be a little scatterbrained. I’m going for “empty my post draft inbox” over post quality, so read at your own sanity.

We continued our Christmas sickness into January 😦 Arrow and I were in quarantine for Hand Foot Mouth and Archer had strep throat. Everyone except Taylor caught the stomach flu.

Baby girl was not feeling her best 😦

Eventually the spots faded and tummies settled. Here is Terra all better 🙂

I was feeling very proud of this scrabble game.

A good amount of Taylor’s students were performing in the school play so we went to support them 🙂

It didn’t feel like a great experience in the moment. Don’t get me wrong: the actors and stagecraft were great! The audience members were a bit of a nightmare. Not to name names, but it can be assumed my very busy, loud, disruptive children are to blame.

Looking back though, I am glad we went. The play was awesome. We’ll just have to keep practicing our manners. And maybe I shouldn’t buy them candy before the show starts lol.

Taylor set up “Tea Time” which has become our nighttime ritual. Taylor reads The Hobbit aloud while we sip our tea to candlelight. It is lovely.

Junior got coned after coming home with a gnarly gash on his head. Taylor thinks he got into a fight with a raccoon. I think he got scared by his reflection and started a fight with himself. I guess we’ll never know.

Not sure where this is but here is Arrow in her natural state of being.

Went out for a girls’ night with my two favorites. I love these cartoon renderings Natalie made of us!

The food was great but my favorite part was sitting and talk talk talking and laughing in my car for two hours in our driveway. We chatted so long the car battery died in the cold. Rachel is fortunately very handy (not a scaredy-cat like me) and got the battery jumped. Love you Nat & Rach!!!!!

tf is this cat tryna do

Our family missed out on Christmas celebrations, but the grandparents had some gifts for the kids. We had a mini-Christmas at my parent’s one Sunday. (Terra seems pretty okay with it!)

My coworker is from Taiwan and says this is my name (Shun or Mountain) in Mandarin. It might actually say “Poop Face” but it looks cool so I’ll take it.

Ah, yes, another animal emergency. A dog broke into our yard and got into our chickens.

See all that bandaging on the backside there? That’s the handy work of my best friend who isn’t squeamish to handle bloody, mauled skin. (Honestly if it wasn’t for you Natalie, we probably would have had to put her down. And by we I mean we would have asked your husband to do it. Taylor and I are not meant for the hard farming life lmaoooo. Thank you for saving our hen!)

Anyway, the hen lived indoors for a few days while the new feathers started to grow in and successfully rejoined her flock. The kids thought it was awesome to have their pet birds indoors.
