The second semester of grad school & finals

This post commemorates the end of my second semester in financial planning! I am officially halfway through the CFP prep 🙂

This semester’s course load was pretty light, all things considered.

Retirement Planning

Learned about the different defined contribution and defined benefit plans. Learned that teachers and other public servants in Utah are NOT set up to retire comfortably.

By the end of this class, I considered working for a retirement company. I feel so strongly about saving, saving, saving. I ended up taking a wonderful job in holistic financial planning and am very glad to be there. But the passion remains: everyone should have a Roth IRA and they’re easy to set up. Future you will thank you!

Speaking of gratitude:

I was pretty nervous for the final exam. Taylor saw it fit to leave notes of encouragement throughout the house and at eye level… at every level.

Thanks, Taylor 🤣

Three classes down, three more to go!
