January little things 2025

Arrow & Archer learned to play my favorite board game: Sequence!

Sander really took to this carton of eggs. He kept those puppies safe and sound, including on the drive home. (They’re buckled up in the bag.)

Colds and sinus infections and congestion galore. Taylor is ridiculously attractive even when he lays sick and dying.

I, too, am a natural beauty.

Meanwhile I made very good use of the break by re-bingeing B99 😁

We finally got snow!

To be clear, I dislike being cold, wet, or enduring any manner of discomfort. The snow is pretty but I don’t want to deal with it. However I worry that any day now God is going to get sick of our crappy treatment of the environment and will subsequently yeet our planet into the sun to speed up the disintegration process. Snow is a cheerful sign that death is still coming but probably not today!

DO YOU SEE HOW HE TUCKS IN HIS PAWS

Did some doggysitting for this real life Ewok:

His tail 😭

It was nice to have a snuggle buddy again while I caught up on some sewing.

Arrow’s mice cannot get any cuter. Love this picture she snapped of those glorious ears 😭

In a cruel twist of fate, we discovered a mouse has been living in our attic. Felt kind of weird to love on these mice and then lay traps for the squatter 😬

I run the elementary school’s reflection program. The contest ended way back in November, but it took quite a while to get on the assembly schedule. Nevertheless, we persisted, and had a quick morning assembly to showcase our winners.

Last year we hosted our first awards assembly and gave out 20-something trophies. This year- 32! I am brainstorming some ideas to grow this amazing program for next Fall… will take any advice on increasing participation!

Maren & Nate came over for cookies & cards. These two just exude warmth and joy. Love being with them (and that they let me chat their ears off until they bled.)

Finally, this notable picture of our after school homework routine. The after-school crazies were honestly my least favorite part of the day. Lots of fighting, crying, tantrums, etc. We seem to have come around a corner this past month. Idk if it’s the structure or because their homework is naturally relaxing. Either way. It’s been a relief to not get shouted at the moment kids walk in the door!
