November 2024 little things

Little things that happened this month in no particular order.

But first, of course, your monthly cat tax:

Kills me when kitties cover their eyes to sleep 🥺

Uncle Darren came for a visit, much to our delight:

We had the piano tunes. Sander was VERY interested in the mechanics of the piano. Will he secretly dismantle the piano behind our backs? Or will he do so with fanfare and sledgehammers? Time will tell!

Did one of those “compare my face to celebrities” things and got this:

WELL ALRIGHTY THEN.

Although, to be fair, Tolstoy has mile high cheekbones that are quite flattering.

Autumn florals🍁

Sander had a hearing test. He’s struggled with chronic ear infections forever. We were concerned if the fluid build up was affecting his hearing.

All good news! Funny enough, the test did indicate he was currently fighting off another ear infection. I didn’t even know about it. Poor kid!

Another cat pic because I’m sad today and snuggly kitties are heartwarming.

Early morning cuddles on the couch. Love all those sleepy faces so so much.

We had our massive elm tree cut down. It was very exciting for Chloe & Sander.

I miss seeing her glorious tail!

Oma & Opa came to town. Before heading back to Reno, they surprised the kids after school with a little treasure hunt:

These kids are so lucky to have grandparents on both sides who do fun stuff like this.

The local church hosted a Friendsgiving for the women of the congregation,

I am grateful that this church community cares about the neighborhood community as a whole. And that they invite me to their fancy dinners regardless of my membership or lack thereof.

Arrow & Archer had a fun sleepover at K&Ma for the weekend. We don’t do a lot of sleepovers in general, so it was weird to have them gone overnight. They sure had a blast though. They loved playing video games and exploring the aviary.

Snow fell much to this princess’s delight:

Chloe passed away, which was no little thing. But I do want to remember the kindness of my friend. She came over about 10:30 at night bearing chocolate pie and chocolate pretzels. Perfect comfort foods in case I wanted to cry & eat in private.

Thank you SO much, Nat ❤️

We also got to work on winterizing the chicken coop:

The coop has been a bit of a pain point with its piecemeal repairs. We may need to scrap it and build a new one in the summer 🤔 I’d love to put in a lower floor, two more roosting bars, a nice venting window, and extra doors to make cleaning a snap. But maybe we should use those efforts & money for the yard at large… Decisions, decisions!

LOTS of card games as winter creeps from the outdoors.

Qwixx and Settlers of Catan Jr have been especially popular around here!

Finally, look at these GORGEOUS nails Hannah made for me.

I can’t wait for the December set 😍

And that’s a wrap on November 2024!
