Now that Taylor is finished with his graduate program (!) (yes I’ll explain that soon) I have more time to finish up these billion blog posts in drafts. Let’s rewind back to the end of October…
…back when Taylor and I signed up to be soccer coaches! I wrote a little bit about the chaotic beginnings back in September. The rest of the season was a lot of work and a lot of fun.
The girls and I learned the rules and strategies right alongside each other. Thanks to the other coach, who actually plays soccer, we scored many wins!
Of course, the post-game snacks were the real prizes.

We finished up our final “practice” with a pizza party & a little awards ceremony. Both for Arrow’s team and for Archer’s:

These kids learned a lot in just 8 weeks. They learned the technical skills of passes, strikes, and positions. Coach Chris reinforced field positions, as to prevent bumble-bee soccer play. It was impressive to watch all these little kids manning their posts! They also learned about the value of teamwork and contributing even when you don’t want to, because people are depending on you. That involved some sweet-talking almost every day, but it was worth seeing those kids be brave and selfless.
Yeah, it was a pretty awesome experience for everyone.

Excited to see these kiddos again in the spring!
