Peaches peaches pepeachapeachapeaches

When Taylor’s parents moved away, they gifted us their fruit orchard.

Orchards take a lot of work! Taylor handled the mowing and pruning. His grandfather, who shares the orchard, took care of the irrigation and pest control. (And took on probably more roles that I don’t know about.)

But all that hard work paid off for peach picking season!

We roped the kids into collecting the fruits… and tending to the local fur friend 🙂

This is all from one tree! (We have 2 peach, 1 apple, and 1 plum tree on our little plot.)

Taylor’s parents also gifted us their canning supplies. We are SO grateful for their generosity. Grateful for this food and for the kids to learn some homesteading skills.

Of course, we couldn’t keep it to just ourselves. Friends helped put up peaches and took home some jars of their own.

It’s been a bountiful season of peaches and apples. Later this week we’ll pick our plums and make some bottles of jam. Yum.
