The Jacobs household has been busy. On top of Maren & Nate’s whirlwind engagement, there’s also been wedding planning, reception planning, college graduations, buying a home out of state, selling a home, apartment rentals, full time jobs, etc, etc, etc.
Somewhere in the mix of a bunch of people changing their lives, Sherry asked Hannah (my SIL) and me to take on Maren’s bridal shower.
I texted back “Sure.”
What I actually meant was “OMG THAT’S SO NICE YOU ASKED ME I LOVE PARTIES THIS WILL BE THE BEST SHOWER EVARRRRRRRR”.
I texted Hannah privately: “I have a couple ideas to run by you.”
What I actually meant was: “I stayed up until 3 am building out Pinterest boards and also I made a Google Presentation with ideas HAHAHAH MKAY? .”

Our roles were pretty simple. Since I clearly had way too much wick to burn, I was in charge of researching party ideas. Hannah, who actually has a life and is also the sister to Maren, took on the executive decision-making. And lemme tell ya, I think we did a great job.
On the evening prior, Taylor and I drove up to his grandparents ‘ home. It was time to set up for the bridal shower. Grandma & Grandpa Slater helped me set up the photo backdrop. I asked Grandpa if I could take his picture. He responded by sticking his tongue out at me before I could catch him in the act.

Where were the husband and children, you ask? Well, Taylor was mowing the family orchard. The kids were testing their wagon vs gravity on the slanted driveway.

The finished product:

Perfection! Thank you Gma & Gpa! ❤
Bright and early the next morning, Hannah and I, along with our moms, showed up to frost cookies, skewer mini caprese, and recreate the photo backdrop.

The party was a success.

It was so much fun to celebrate our dear Maren for her wedding!
