I asked Taylor if we should bring Chloe, our potato-shaped dog, on our first camping trip of the year.
“No,” he said, “it’d be too complicated to manage a new dog while meeting a bunch of new people at your family’s reunion.”
Wait, what?
Ohhhhh he thought I was earnestly seeking his insight.
Oh boy, this conversation was about to take a fun turn!
See, when I asked “Should we bring her”, what I actually meant was a non-negotiable statement that went something like “You need to mentally and spiritually prepare to have this dog with us at all times and in all places.” Honestly, this one is on me for burying the lead. All is forgiven.
We packed the potato.

LOOK HOW HAPPY SHE IS

Who could say no to such a sweet smile?!
The dog’s expression is pretty cute too.
The drive was great. I highly recommend taking a 5-hour roadtrip just to learn if the dog gets carsick or not.

I love these vast open fields. If Sander doesn’t quit his runaway act soon, we’ll move here, just so I can keep an eye on him 3 miles out.

Finally, we made it to the stunning realm of Glenn’s Ferry, Idaho. Those skies are vibrant.

Nothing better than collecting sticks and romping through new territory with a wolf dog at your side ❤
We made up a song about Chloe in the wilderness. It goes like this:
Thepotatogoestopotatoland
Thepotatogoestopotatoland
The. Potato. Goes to. POTATOLAND.
Taylor chimed in with alternative verses like “The Potato Lends a POTATOHAND” and “The Potato Plays in a POTATOBAND.” To be honest, I thought Taylor was putting up a good attitude about being coerced into bringing the dog. And he was choosing to feel neutral about Chloe’s need to rip up snake holes when he sang “The Potato Digs in POTATOSAND”.
Then Taylor read the title of this blog post.
“Oh! Is Chloe the potato?!”
Wait, what?
