wrapping up the last days of the school year

Ok. Finally catching up on the end of May. In summary:

Arrow had her end-of-year recital:

I admit I was apprehensive. She abhors “nice” or “pretty” clothing. She doesn’t like being on stage in front of strangers. Last year Arrow plum refused to play the piano until her teacher coaxed her out from the audience.

All the things she hates combined into a miserable two minutes of her short life!

At home, we practiced over and over how to announce her song and bow (not dab!) at the end. She played for the family with everyone observing and played in the background while I grabbed with a girlfriend.

Idk if she was motivated by the smaller venue, or the practice recitals her teacher hosted during lesson time, or the practicing at home. Maybe all of them. Perhaps none of them and she’s just grown up a little more. But I really am thrilled to see her lean into herself for confidence.

Good job, baby! So proud of you!

Our traditional end-of-year dinner celebration: zupas!

(Arrow is making her “cool” pose lmao)

We OFFICIALLY ADOPTED CHLOE!

We picked up the prettiest pink tag for our pretty princess and bought dog biscuits that spelled out C-H-L-O-E. Yeah, we were pretty excited 🙂

The kids had a cookout with Opa & Opa while Tay & I decompressed with plants on fire.

a DOG broke into my HOUSE!!!!

The first time this happened, I was astonished. The second time; delighted. Now I’m just confused.

We couldn’t find his owner and the vet couldn’t find any tags. I ended up leaving him at the shelter… where his owner picked him up a few hours later. Thank goodness!

Craft time with little friends:

Finally, Sander and I volunteered at the elementary school’s field day. It was SO fun to see Arrow and Archer having a blast with their friends. It was SO gross detangling strings soaked in soapy water (it was for a giant balloon activity). Next year I call dibs on wherever Kati, Rick, or Holly are because those are the fun people to be around when my kiddos have moved on. 🙂

Aaaaand that about wraps up the month of May!

Felt cute, might do an exorcism on the shed later, idk.
