Five Quick Takes of a Dancing Violinist, Bookish Bangs, and Minimalism Musings

Take #1

Taylor and I went on a special date to see Lindsey Stirling perform in concert.

You guys. She’s playing the violin, upside down, and wrapping her body around this triangle thing.

There’s no way she’s one of us mere mortals.

Take #2

Arrow got sick of her hair in her face while she reads so she requested bangs! After studying her reflection, she declared “I look like Mary from the Secret Garden!” I don’t know if that means she likes them or not but it’s such a fun change for my little bookworm ❤

Take #3

We’ve had quite the snow dumping here lately. If you are familiar with Utah ecology, you know that we’re constantly on the verge of drying up and disintegrating into salt pillars. I think that’s what KSL said. Anyway, we got some powdery snow, which doesn’t help the water levels but it does make for some good driving 🙂

Take #4

We stopped by family’s place to meet their new kitten and play some video games. The ring fit is SO fun. I’m not even embarrassed that I was out of breath in 5 minutes.

This might be something we buy to keep my lazy butt off the couch during these cold months.

Take #5

This year I’ve been re-learning minimalism and christmas. As in, I’m going all-in with christmas gifts while trying to keep the minimalism going strong on things less important to me. It feels counter-intuitive, but I’m realizing minimalism might mean to be frugal about the small things so that we can fully enjoy the big things. I haven’t yet figured out what that looks like in our home. However, other people much smarter than me have some good ideas.

2023 feels like a great year to pick up on minimalism again. I can’t wait.
