Halloween ‘22

Another spooky season come and gone. (Thought of you all season Katie </3)

October was BUSY with my sister’s wedding, a family trip to Hawaii, and still adjusting to the new house. But Halloween is kind of a big deal, as perfectly depicted by Arrow here 🙂

Can’t you feel that excitement just bursting out of her?

Let’s start with a date to Gardner Village with my side of the family:

Grandma M treated us to a delightful lunch at Archibalds. I splurged on some really lovely crochet yarn:

Some harvest fun was celebrated with Taylor’s side of the fam as well. We took extended family photos (and of course sneaking in baby snuggles between portraits!):

And then his parents treated everyone to a farm festival & corn maze.

Funny little moment: Archer was SO CONCERNED that we would be lost all night, so he gathered corn for everyone along the way. (He picked up ones he found in the ground, not on the stalks 🙂 ) He reassured us that we would cook the corn by holding them in the sun 🙂

Slides & trains with cousins & friends 🙂 Arrow was so happy to run into a friend from school! She hopped right into the same seat as the train started to chug and they were off!

We also spent a little time at a ranch trick or treating with the horses. The Kissing Booth horse was my favorite 🙂

Sander had a “trick or treat” with the librarians at Storytime. The kids were taught how to “trick or treat”. You know what happens when 30 3-year-olds stand in line for a book sticker from the librarian? My heart MELTS. That’s what happens. Too much cuteness.

Speaking of Sander, he wanted to dress up as our resident feline for Halloween. I made him this costume. (Obviously.)

Though my handiwork came out kinda ugly this year, Sander LOVED this thing. He wore it to every outing and errand. Unfortunately, it was lost at Hobby Lobby only a couple days before Halloween 😦

And then there was the matter of actual Halloween!

Sander and I watched Archer & Arrow make their (very cold) way in the Halloween costume parade. (They also chose to be cats this year!)

Then we spent the night at Taylor’s parents with games & dinner like every year. This is my favorite part of Halloween. Card games with the adults while the littles binge candy and watch tv.

Why am I holding a sack you ask? Here’s what I told my friend:

I should have more shame.

After we filled our sacks, we came home to the MOST DELIGHTFUL chicken noodle soup that Hannah made & the traditional “candy corn” salad 🙂

Happy Halloween you guys. Wish you were here to celebrate, too, Katie.
