Taylor’s new classroom

With the announcement that our family is officially staying in Utah, I can finally share the next fun thing for Taylor’s career!

He just started at a new school. Still a math teacher but now for a younger grade. He left a strictly managed charter school to a much more lax public school. Neither of us have taught in the public school system and we are SO curious how the new experiences will hold up. How will the students be different? Will the administration back up their teachers? How effective is the current curriculum? Lots of big changes coming up to enjoy and learn from.

Taylor took us on a little tour of his new classroom:

Where the babies received an impromptu math lesson.

Arrow is irritated because the math problems were “too easy” lol. She has her daddy’s math brain.

While Taylor and I rearranged the sitting tables, the kids broke out the calculators.

Back in MY day, we students figured out how to download super mario on our T-89 calculators and would play during math class.

When we couldn’t handle the stuffiness any longer (his room doesn’t have A/C… or windows 😳 ) we wrapped up for a donut celebration (Taylor’s favorite treats).

So excited for those incoming students and for you Taylor! Can’t wait for you to get started! ❤
