It’s my birthday today!

We celebrated with Cafe Rio burritos, window shopping for RVs, and an incredible ice cream cake from Coldstone. Simple, sweet, and delicious. It was exactly what I wanted.

But it got even better. Cafe Rio endowed this little exchange on me while I was about to pay for my burritos:

9yo: Hey, do you guys do birthday specials?

Cashier: No, but we can take $5 off a meal!

9yo: Oh. Well, how much is a large Horchata?

Cashier: $3

9yo: Nice. Can you take $5 off of that?

Cashier: …sure

9yo: [takes a cup and zooms off]

Me: Wow, that little man knows how to hustle!

Cashier: Seriously, like what even just happened lol

Me:

Cashier:

Me: So, funny timing, but today is actually my birth-

Cashier: Just take the cup.

Nothing like a free cup of horchata to welcome another year!
