I announced to Taylor that I had solidified our Fall Break plans: doing absolutely rattatoothin nothing.
This was obviously the right choice, judging by the relief fill his face.
This school year started off hectic. I had stayed in the hospital for about a week, while Taylor juggled the back-to-school events for his students and his own children. I was discharged the night prior to my college classes, so it was zooming (literally, badumtissss) right into coursework. My recovery was tough for everyone. We were worn out just from living the everyday basics.
So, for our fall break plans, I told Taylor that we were staying home and continuing life as normal. The kids were still in school (a different district than Taylor), and we just needed a “real life” week at home.
This was a good idea, because stuff kept happening!
The weekend kicked off with the destruction of our car, and bringing home a new one:

For you crazy people who like car stuff, all the information about this puppy is right here.
On Monday, Archer brought home a fever & chills virus from preschool school, and kindly shared it with the family. Popsicles & cartoons aren’t such a bad way to pass the time though 🙂

Lots of belly rubs and snuggles:

Taylor and I took my parents out on a long overdue gratitude dinner at Market Street Grill. The paid the expenses for us to move out of our impoverished disaster back in Virginia to come back to Utah. I forgot to grab a group photo of the four of us but snapped this picture in the parking lot afterwards.

We took the kids out to Zupas. For no good reason, I really love the orange honey water.

My sister invited me on a history ghost tour of the Salt Lake Cemetery. We’ve covered a couple podcast episodes on a some of the people here in this graveyard, so it was incredible to visit their graves in real life.

I also LOVE this gorgeous rose arch gravestone. Might include one of those for my burial plans in my will.
Park playdates afterschool with daddy (while I hid in the car to read a book 🙂 )

The week ended up being a little busier than we had thought it would be, but we achieved the goal of living out (mostly) regular everyday life events. Looking forward to another relaxing week over Thanksgiving!
