Summer is the best time to hold unrealistic expectations about myself. I know this. Goals that would take 5 or so years to accomplished cannot be suddenly achieved in 12 short weeks. (10 weeks, actually, because teachers get to go to work 2 weeks early, WHAT FUN.)
BE AS THAT MAY, I refuse to change my ways. Because there’s always the small chance… the finite opportunity… that this summer will be THE summer when I have a beautifully decorated home that even Joanna Gaines would approve of, a summer #mombod that Taylor will oogle over, and the grace of Her Ladyship Crawley.
IT’S GOING TO HAPPEN AND IT’S GOING TO BE LOVELY.
Amongst my unrealistic-but-totally-going-to-happen-anyway, I have some goals I want to share here. In fact, I’ll be sharing the everyone’s summer goals here. I wanted to post these here to be a little more accessible for the future.
Here are my plans this summer:
Learning Goals:
- To improve my pathetic penmanship
- Speak conversational Russian dialogue with Taylor
- Learn “Fields of Gold” & “How You Remind Me” on the guitar
- Read 25 books
To accomplish these goals, I plan to spend 45 minutes every weekday doing the following:
- Handwriting practice (5 min)
- Russian practice (20 min)
- Guitar practice (20 min)
EVENT GOALS
There are a few “one and done” events I want to get to this summer as well.
- Go blonde (Will this be a hideous mistake? Will this cause disgust in Taylor’s eyes, thus thwarting my ultimate #mombod goal? We shall see!)
- Lagoon (Utah’s amusement park) with Taylor
- Pick up groceries via bike
- Summer party with friends
- Social Media free alllll summer.
- Open an IRA account
I’m also taking 7 credits in 6 weeks towards my bachelor’s degree. This will be done through blogging when I should be doing homework and crying myself to sleep at night.
Wish me luck!
