It’s official! Arrow has completed her first year of school!
She had a little assembly with her class to present what they all learned this last year.

This little ham in the center (hands over her eyes) was loving the attention up front. She was jumping, flinging her arms, and grinning the cheesiest smile possible when she had the attention of the audience. (I was proud to have a child who enjoys the spotlight 🙂 )
In their assembly, they recited the science and history songs that they learned through the year. They even recited part of the Gettysburg address! I appreciate this intense program that enables children to learn from a young age.

Protip: Always choose the bleacher seat against the wall. Then you can pretend it doesn’t hurt your old lady back to sit up straight in public.
After the assembly, we met for a little reception in the kindergarten classroom.

One very thoughtful mother made going away treats for all the kiddos. This was especially thoughtful, since our school rarely has in class parties. I don’t think I ever brought a treat for birthdays or events. But this fun going away present sure made Arrow feel like a million bucks!
Taylor had to take off to manage his students cleaning out their lockers. (And those kids needed management. It’s amazing, in a very gross way, of what kids think to stuff in there all year long.) My MIL joined us for the celebration. So glad you got to come!
Arrow said goodbye to her wonderful teacher and little best friends. She’ll be attending a different school next year (moving districts), and so this is the last time she’ll see them for a while.
It was a bittersweet day, as all goodbyes are. So grateful for the experiences she got to have here. And so excited for the new things coming this little girl’s way.
Congratulations, Arrow! We love you!
